Study in India Programme (SIP)
Government of India has launched ‘Study in India’ Programme to provide easy access to the international students to study in the best institutions in India. Under the programme, premier educational institutions of India have offered more than 15000 seats for eligible foreign students in various disciplines. A centralized admission portal (www.studyinindia.gov.in) has been launched for the purpose, through which a foreign student can apply with one single application, without any fee, to get considered for admission in almost 83 premier educational institutions. The algorithm in the portal will rank the student based on the merit and allocate seats based on his/her choices. The fee waivers ranging from 100% to 25% will also be provided to more than half of the students, depending on the merit and preference of the students, through various scholarship schemes.
2. It may be mentioned that cost of studying in India is affordable when compared to developed nations. India provides a world class higher education, the third largest in its class, which is a complete ‘value for money’ option for international students. Please click here for the brochure of the ‘Study in India’ programme. More details about the programme can be obtained from the website www.studyinindia.gov.in.
