Celebrations of 4th International Day of Yoga in Khartoum (Sudan)
The 4 th International Day of Yoga was celebrated in Queens Hall, International Park in Khartoum (Sudan) on Saturday, the 23 rd June 2018. The event was attended by 150 persons. The participants included members of Indian Community of Sudan, members of Sudan India Friendship Association(SIFA), expatriates, sprinklings of Sudanese colleagues and Diplomatic community of Sudan as well as students and teachers from Indian Omdurman School. Ambassador of DRC and CAR also attended.
2. The programme started with the screening of a small video titled ‘Yogi of the Race Track” received from Ministry of Tourism of Government of India, which was followed by a speech of the Ambassador. This was followed by screening of the video message from Prime Minister of India on the occasion of 4 th International Day of Yoga. A clipping of Mass Yoga Day Demonstration led by PM on 21 st June 2018 at Dehradun was screened. This was followed by yoga practice under the guidance of Dr. Shaswata Chandra and Mrs. Herambi Chandra, Yoga experts based Khartoum, in accordance with the Common Yoga Protocol devised by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The event concluded with audio rendering of Shanti Mantra.
