The Embassy of India, Khartoum is pleased to announce the launch of the 85th Edition of the Know India Programme (KIP), scheduled to be held from 06 January to 27 January 2026.
About the Know India Programme (KIP)
The 85th edition has been designated as a Special Edition. In partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, selected participants will also take part in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD), held alongside the National Youth Festival on 12 January 2026.
The VBYLD seeks to empower young leaders from India and the diaspora through innovation, leadership development, and collaborative problem-solving. Under the Viksit Bharat Challenge Track, participants will work on ten thematic areas aligned with India's national priorities, including governance, sustainability, education, and entrepreneurship.
The Viksit Bharat Challenge will consist of four progressive stages:
- Online Quiz
- Essay Competition
- Presentations and Leadership Assessments
- National Championship, where finalists will present their ideas to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
Selected participants may have the privilege of showcasing their ideas on this national platform.
Participants of the 85th KIP will benefit from a wide range of engagements, including:
- Orientation sessions on India’s polity, economy, history, culture, and current developments
- Visits to important democratic institutions such as Parliament, the Election Commission, and Rashtrapati Bhavan
- Sectoral exposure to India’s achievements in science, technology, IT, pharmaceuticals, start-ups, and infrastructure
- Cultural and heritage visits highlighting India’s civilizational heritage
- Insights into flagship national initiatives like Digital India, Skill India, Startup India, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat
- Industry visits to major public and private enterprises
- Academic interactions at premier institutions
- Visits to leading research and scientific organizations
- Exposure to Indian media and broadcasting
- State visits to one or two Indian States to experience cultural diversity
The 85th edition of the Know India Programme will begin on 06 January 2026 and conclude on 27 January 2026.
The deadline for submitting applications to the Embassy of India, Khartoum is 08 December 2025.
All duly received applications will be scrutinized and forwarded to the Ministry (DE Division) by 12 December 2025.
Eligible candidates are invited to submit their applications to the Embassy of India, Khartoum on or before 08 December 2025.
Applications will be reviewed and recommended to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, by 12 December 2025.
- Age 21-35, PIO youth only; NRIs not eligible.
- Proof of Indian origin via OCI/PIO card of self/parents/grandparents; in its absence, an undertaking attested by DCM/DCG/HOM/HOP.
- Must hold a graduation degree; those still pursuing graduation are not eligible.
- Must have proficiency in English.
- Preference to first-time visitors to India.
- Should not have participated in earlier KIP editions or other GOI-funded programmes.
- MEA provides local hospitality - boarding, lodging (budget hotels), internal transport - for the programme duration.
- Missions arrange return air tickets after collecting 10% of the airfare from participants.
- Gratis visa is issued to selected participants.
- Participants arriving early or staying beyond programme dates must self-arrange.
- Valid international travel & medical insurance for the entire duration in India.
- Medical fitness certificate confirming ability to undertake long-distance travel and the programme schedule.
